Google Tip #6 – Fonts and More Fonts!

Sometimes a simple variation in the font used can create a whole different feel for a document.  I love to include fun and sassy fonts when creating an infographic or HyperDoc!  The font chosen can add a whole different attitude to the work whether it is professional, fun, adventurous, cartoon-like, etc.  When using G Suite tools, there are hundreds of fonts to choose from for the perfect match to your creation.  The beauty of using web-based G Suite tools is that the font will look the same for the audience of viewers no matter how it’s accessed.

Users have access to all of the fonts while inside a G Suite tool – Docs, Slides, Sheets, Drawings, etc.  Here’s how to access all the fonts available:

  1. Click on the font choice menu.
  2. Choose More fonts from the drop-down menu.
  3. A pop-up window will appear where you can search and sort through hundreds of fonts.
  4. Choose a font by clicking on it to add it to your My fonts list.
  5. The font will be available to use in all your G Suite creations.

Navigate to the Google Fonts Website to browse for a particular font that will add your expression to your creation: https://fonts.google.com/

On the right is a Search menu where you can sift through over 800 fonts, filtering and sorting by multiple categories.

You can even enter your own text as a specimen to decide whether or not you like the look of the end result.

So, why not add some personality, some attitude, some fun into your G Suite creations?   Add fonts and more fonts!
