Mitsui USA Scholarships / Japan-America Society of TN, INC

DEADLINE:  May 31, 2017

We are pleased to announce that the Mitsui USA Scholarships in Tennessee Program, now in its 14th year, will continue in support of the aspirations of globally-minded high school seniors across the state.  Four $5,000 freshman-year scholarships will be funded and awarded to successful applicants who plan to enroll in a four-year public college or university within the State of Tennessee’s Board of Regents or University of Tennessee systems.

Eligibility guidelines, application materials and selection criteria are available for downloading and printing through our Society’s website at – Program Spotlights.  Applications must be postmarked no late than May 31, 2017 to be considered by the Scholarship Review Committee.  All applicants will be notified by the second week of July of final award decisions.

The Mitsui USA Scholarships in Tennessee Program was established by Mitsui & Co. (U.S.A.), Inc., through its office in Nashville and The Mitsui USA Foundation in New York to provide educational opportunities to college-bound high school seniors and promote cross-cultural understanding between Japan and Tennessee.  The Program is administered by the Japan-America Society of Tennessee, Incl, a non-profit, 501 (c)3 corporation, headquartered in Nashville and funded by individual and corporate membership fees.

Balanced Man Scholarship – TN Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon


Details of Scholarship:

The scholarship is for graduating male seniors.

They must be enrolling at the University of Tennessee Knoxville in the fall of 2017

There is no obligation to join Sigma Phi Epsilon or any other fraternity at Tennessee.

1st place – $1,500

2nd place – $1,000

3rd place – $500

We will also award four $500 scholarships to the applicants who greatly excel in the four categories:  Leader, Scholar, Athlete, and Gentleman

Leadership Franklin Scholarship

Leadership Franklin Scholarship Applications Now Available

Franklin, TN – High school seniors and current college students who live in Williamson County are encouraged to apply for the scholarship to be awarded by Leadership Franklin. The non-profit organization will award one $1,500 scholarship to a student who meets the scholarship criteria.

Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average to be considered. A copy of the student’s transcript and a 500-word essay are part of the application requirement.

Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of scholarship application points, community involvement, and quality of essay. All students are encouraged to apply.

Now in its 21st year, Leadership Franklin is a non-profit community leadership organization dedicated to educating, informing, and empowering leaders to improve the quality of life in Franklin and Williamson County. Leadership Franklin is funded primarily by business, individual, and alumni contributions. The Becker Law Office is offering a Scholarship Program that is designed to help interested high school (upon graduation from high school) or college students in the United States to attend an institution of higher education. Three scholarships worth a combined $5,000 will be awarded to help students achieve their goals of furthering their education. Selection of the recipients is based on the creative entry, academic performance, and professional pursuits.



The following documents must be provided for consideration (.doc, .docx, or .pdf format only) via email only to

  • A completed application. Download the application form here.
  • An official copy of a current academic transcript.
  • A one-page essay of no less than 500 and no more than 750 words which focuses on Distracted Driving.  Topics can be one of the following:
  1. “” Download the app, participate and write an essay on how the app could help with the overall problem of distracted driving.

  2. “Distracted Driving and Me.” A personal story about either yourself or a close family member that was affected by distracted driving.
  3. “Distracted Driver Awareness Campaign.” A personal story about an awareness campaign you have personally organized or administrated.

We’re offering a $1,000 scholarship to eligible HS seniors, current college and graduate students in an effort to give back and also promote sleep awareness.

Eligibility And Application Requirements

  • Applicants must be current high school seniors attending school in the United States OR current college students already studying at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens
  • Applicants must be anticipating completion of high school diploma at time of application or already in possession of high school diploma / GED
  • Applicants must be planning to or already currently pursuing a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution
  • Applicants must be carrying a minimum 3.0 GPA currently or at the end of their senior year

REALTOR Good Works Foundation-WCAR

Good morning!  Attached, please find a copy of our 2017 Scholarship Application for WCS seniors.  The REALTORS® Good Works Foundation, a philanthropic arm of Williamson County Association of REALTORS® is pleased to make available to all Williamson County, Tennessee public high school seniors, the opportunity to apply to receive a $5,000 scholarship to use towards their higher education.   As a reminder, in 2016, we awarded $10,000 in scholarships to 2 deserving seniors in Williamson County.  We look forward to receiving many applications this year and awarding more students with assistance to further their education as the post-secondary level.


The completed application form should be returned to the Williamson County Association of REALTORS®, to my attention, no later than Friday, March 31, 2017. In addition to the application, the following items must be included in your packet (your application will not be considered without all of the items requested):


  1. High School transcript (a sealed copy from your high school must be in your packet, the seal cannot be broken). Immunization records are not needed.
  2. A minimum of 2 letters of recommendation from individuals involved in your school, work or outside activities.


Once all packets have been received by the Williamson County Association of REALTORS® office, the 2017 Scholarship Committee members will meet to review all scholarship applications. At that time, candidates will be selected for personal interviews conducted by a minimum of 2 committee members.


If selected as a candidate for interview, you may be asked to provide proof of household income in the form of a FAFSA application and/or 2016 tax information. The interviews will be scheduled after school hours in Mid-April. Once the interview date & time is accepted by you, it cannot be rescheduled. If you cannot make your scheduled interview time you will forfeit your opportunity and the next candidate in line will be contacted. Once all interviews have taken place, the Committee will select the scholarship recipient. Recipients are selected based upon their academic achievements, extra-curricular involvement, personal character, and financial need.


Additionally, for convenience, we have included the ability of the students to complete the application this year ON-LINE.  Please note, that all additional documents will still need to be mailed by the deadline in order to be considered.  The online application is available at the link below.

Hiram Masonic Lodge Scholarship

Hiram Masonic Lodge #7, located in Franklin, TN, has the privilege of offering scholarships to graduating seniors and current college, undergraduate and graduate students who live in our community. We are pleased to announce that in 2017 we will be awarding three (3) scholarships of $2,000 each.
